It all started as “One small step for man …” How to begin a positive change.

Secrets of the physical game

 

If you’ve recently wanted to make some lofty changes, but haven’t started, I completely understand.

 

Here are the possible reasons:

 

o       No time

o       No money

o       No enthusiasm

o       Fear of starting something you can’t (or don’t believe you can) follow through with

o       Fear of commitment

o       Not good with change

o       Afraid to step out of your comfort zone

o       Confused with what step to take first

o       Or combinations and variations of the above

 

Believe it or not, I’ve been here before. So, don’t beat yourself up for not starting, please understand the most important stage of this process is NOT trying to overcome the excuses.

 

The most important part of taking action, is simply, the initial thought that something has to happen, a change in your life needs to occur. So many people never even realize that they must make changes in their habits, mentally, nutritionally or physically. They aimlessly go through life oblivious that anything is wrong – Now that’s scary!

 

The next most important part is: developing the strategy.

 

Strategy does not necessarily require the effort that it takes to take a fledgling company to Fortune 500 status, or a 1 win and 15 loss team to the Superbowl, nor the plot to find Osama Bin Laden.

 

·         It could just mean:

·         I’m going to walk for 5 minutes a day for the first week of my exercise regime

·         Cut back on one cigarette a week

·         Say something nice to one person a day

·         Shrink the size of your dinner portion by one ounce

·         One less can of soda this week

·         Sit up straight at work, instead of just when that attractive looking person walks by

·         Write a love note once a month

I promise it will be a painless, 2 minutes of a potentially life long benefit.
